Oxandrolone
Dosages
Oxandrolone
Dosages: 5mg, 10mg, 25mg, 50mg
Mechanisms of Action
Oxandrolone is a synthetic testosterone derivative; its anabolic potential may be greater than its androgenic potential due to the deletion of the methyl group from the C-19 position.[1] Oxandrolone may help offset the protein catabolism associated with prolonged administration of corticosteroids. It may also assist with the relief of bone pain that may be associated with osteoporosis. Consumption of adequate protein and calories is required for these potential anabolic effects.
Oxandrolone may help promote weight gain after burns or trauma and in certain disease states such as COPD and AIDS, but these effects on lean body mass may be lost after therapy is discontinued. Side effects may include nausea, headache, hair loss, or acne. Serious side effects may include liver disease or toxicity, heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. Talk to your healthcare provider about potential side effects and risks.
Contraindications & Precautions
Male patients with carcinoma of the breast, or with known or suspected carcinoma of the prostate. Carcinoma of the breast in females with hypercalcemia; androgenic anabolic steroids may stimulate osteolytic resorption of bone. Nephrosis or the nephrotic phase of nephritis. Stanozolol can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. Stanozolol is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. If this drug is used during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while taking this drug, the patient should be apprised of the potential hazard to the fetus.
Interactions
Adverse Reactions
In rare cases, serious and even fatal cases of liver problems have developed during treatment with stanozolol. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience abdominal pain, light colored stools, dark colored urine, unusual fatigue, nausea or vomiting, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. These may be early signs of liver problems.
